Publishers’ Description
Christians should be well grounded in the faith ‘which was once for all delivered to the saints’ (Jude 3). We should know what we believe, why we believe it, and the scriptural basis for our beliefs. In this book, Timothy Cross provides a ‘primer’ in the key doctrines of Christianity as he explains each line of the Apostles’ Creed, one of the clearest and most succinct distillations of the Christian faith ever written. Whether you are a Christian of many years’ standing, a new Christian, or just interested in the Christian faith, read this book to gain a firmer grounding in the fundamentals of biblical Christianity.

Reviewers’ Comments
The title of this book excited me, because I’ve derived much spiritual strength from the Apostles’ Creed, both through reciting it and also in studying the historical contexts in which the greet creeds of the church were hammered out.

The basic structure of the book is clear and helpful, with each line of the creed providing a chapter heading. Within each chapter, there is useful referencing of the Scriptures that support each creedal statement and the topics are carefully and thoughtfully explored.

This book is more suited to people familiar with Christian truths using language which they would be familiar with and quoting many of the older hymns …

The very existence of the book got me wondering why, outside of the Anglican fold, so much of our gathered, Sunday worship makes little reference to the creeds that make up our spiritual heritage. I hope that Tim Cross’s book will be a catalyst helping contemporary evangelicals to rediscover their creeds and find helpful ways to include them in modern worship. (Evangelical Times, August 2011).
